Or a photo of the child’s first writings, like ”panani, hunala and leibä”. Written with a style that is at the same time unsure but full of happiness of the new skill.
Anyway, earlier, I have to say, every time I took a photo of a precocious moment, I felt happy but stressed.
I knew that now there exists a picture of the moment and perhaps even a seed of a good story. But likely it will get lost. I have to copy the picture from the camera or the phone to my computer and there it will stay. I will not do anything for it. There it stays, until I need a new computer and I have to copy the stuff to new one.
Ok, as a person who knows something about computers I had solutions. I have external disk, I have backup copies (I once had to restore everything I had back-upped – I had almost all) and I even created password protected web-pages so that my closest ones could see the pictures and stories I wrote. All of that was possible but boy, it required time and self-discipline.
And that time and self-discipline was taken from the time I could have spent storing the images and writing the stories.
Luckily, nowadays there exists easier solutions. Or at least one solution.
