Albums and stories
What is an Album
Where to see my Albums
Filling in albums: stories and importing photos
Create stories from ‘Add a story’ or use automation if you have lots of photos already.
Stories can be created automatically, use “Import pictures and media” to bring a lot of photos at once and grouped into stories by date. Or you can use Media library to import bunch of photos and then use them in the stories later.
So with TellAbout you can import many photos at once. Note that the album cover can present only one photo and a single story can have max. 10 media so you might not see all files you imported if you are filling in photos to these. Use ‘Import photos and media’ or use Media library to import lots of file at once.
All imported photos and media are available in the album’s media library.
We recommend that you import to albums only the selected photos that you already consider worth showing. This will fasten the collaboration also with other members and their convenience as well as yours.
Album's media library and photos
Unlike social media, TellAbout keeps your photos intact. Media library holds the original photos for the printing and download purposes. For showing photos in the album, TellAbout does its magic to make the album viewing fast on anywhere you go.
Albums are private: deciding who can see the Albums
Right after creating a new Album you are the owner and the only member of it. The Album is not visible to anyone except you until the moment you send an invitation. Once invited people have joined they become members and they will see the album in their own Albums-view and can take part in the creation of the Album.
Album content will remain private from any third party. The content of an album will not be used or shared for marketing or profiling intentions. TellAbout offers a solution to those who care about their privacy and do not want to lose the property rights of their content.
Album members – Share and collaborate
What invited album members can do in the album (access rights)? What are co-owners
Only the owner(s) can modify and delete anything they want. In order to give these same rights to selected other members, album owner can mark members to be a co-owner. Co-owners have also rights to modify everything and invite new people. Co-owners can collaborate by writing and editing the same stories (not just commenting on them). Album owners can set existing members as co-owners from album’s Management-view.
How to share the album: how to invite members
Invitation dialog opens. You will need to know the email address of the person(s) you want to invite. To invite many persons, just separate the emails with comma. Finally, check and edit your invitation message to tell people how you wish them to participate and encourage them to tell about things that you are interested in. The instructions of how to access TellAbout will be added automatically.
When you do not know the emails of the people you are sharing, you can also consider sharing via Event Guest.
What happens when I invite someone to my Album?
The invited person only needs to click the Join link to sign up and join the Album. You will receive a confirmation email when the invited member joins your album. Joining and participating in your album is free for them.
If the person invited does not join to your album, it might be that he/she has not noticed the email sent by TellAbout. The mail may have been filtered as a spam. So please contact him/her by other means and ask to check his/her email folders for a message from TellAbout. It’s important to mark TellAbout as a trusted sender (not spam) and add it as a contact to receive the messages later on too.
It is also good to check if the email address was correct one. You can check the email address by opening Members-section from your album and then clicking the member profile. If email address has been erroneous, remove the member (click Trashcan) and invite him/her again. If email was correct, you can just resend the invitation.

Supported devices and files
What kind of device and smartphone can TellAbout be used with?
We support all most used browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer (we recommend version 10 and newer). Internet Explorer 9 does not offer quite the same level of experience as Chrome, Firefox or Safari. For example importing many files at the time is possible on other browsers, but not on IE9. If you have problems with some browser, contact our customer support.
Using audio in TellAbout
Audio files are handled just like picture files when added to the album:
1. Record audio using audio recording software on your computer or smart phone, or take existing audio file. Convert it to MP3 if it needs to.
2. Create or open the story and add media to it. Import the audio file using “Import media” button.
3. Save after upload.
– ordering of the stories with drag and drop
– creation of digital books and storing them with .pdf format. The preview contains possibility to modify book contents.
Very old Android versions or Windows Phone 8.1 or earlier
Windows Phone version need to be 8.1 or later to allow photo uploads simply because this feature was not introduced until then. Please upgrade.
I'm only able to import one file at the time
On phones it depends on the phone widget that you use to select photos (a list appears when you start importing photos from phone). iPhone and Windows Phone (8.1 onwards) default widgets do this fine but on some Android models you need to find the application on your phone that allows selection of many pictures.
